Pro tip: Free conference call.com sucks.

We had our first meeting with a new project manager yesterday and she was getting up to date on statuses and due dates. It was so funny/depressing seeing people peacocking or making excuses to her followed every single time by the same question: “So, is it done or not?”
Also frustrating is seeing higher-ups asking for more time to read a document than I took to write the thing in the first place. Oh, and it was sent to them in December.
Hard to complain too much since I’m incredibly grateful to have a job and be able to work from home.

One good thing about leaving my last job at an essential business is that this company is way less into conference calls and video conferencing.
The way I recall the Citrix meetings working was half the people would be signed in on time, waiting for the meeting organizer, who would come in 5-10 minutes late because of technical issues, then we’d wait another 10-15 minutes for the other half to sign in, give up, and regroup in 5 minutes in a landline voice call.
And God help you if you didn’t have your quota of inane, unnecessary comments to make on the call written out in advance, because the boss would get pissed if he didn’t hear everyone speak at least 3 times, regardless of whether they had anything to say.
